About Pyramid Panama City

Pyramid Panama City is among Pyramid’s original programs. Located in the heart of the city’s business and arts district, we currently serve more than 100 students from the Bay County area.

Pyramid Panama City is best known for its unique arts program, which offers a full range of visual and performing arts, catering to each student’s level of ability and interest. Pyramid performers and artists regularly perform and exhibit locally and in other Florida venues.

Pyramid Panama City is committed to serving those with severe disabilities as it seeks new ways to engage its students, to provide an environment in which they can find excitement and meaning – and to provide them the opportunity to become full participants in their communities.

Our Services

The Arts

Pyramid Panama City offers an inclusive visual and performing arts program that gives students the opportunity to discover and develop their true abilities. The visual arts curriculum offers courses in painting, jewelry‐crafting, sculpting and other fine arts mediums. Students are given the opportunity to sell their works, which are exhibited state‐wide. The performing arts curriculum is ever expanding at Pyramid Panama City and includes a show choir, puppetry, a clown troupe, and The Pyramid Players, who stage a main‐stage original musical performance for nearly 400 annually.

Person-Centered Care

Pyramid Panama City is proud to serve people with behavioral concerns. It is a place where people learn better ways to communicate rather than losing control. Our offered services of behavior management, sensory integration, repositioning, physical/nutritional assistance and various other therapies allow uncompromised and comforting care in a safe environment.

Life Skills

Pyramid Panama City is a place where people with developmental and intellectual disabilities truly grow. They learn skills in daily and independent living that increase their ability to make effective life choices, self‐advocate, set goals, solve problems and appropriately communicate their personal needs. Daily activities may include cooking lessons, money management, navigating the city or vocational skills instruction.

Community

Pyramid Panama City makes its home in the heart of the downtown business and arts district, which offers students the opportunity to be immersed in their community just by stepping outside. Students volunteer with local civic organizations and causes, celebrate with their neighbors at local events and festivals, learn new skills from local business owners and companies and effectively participate in the life of their community. Partnerships with local civic organizations, such as The Pilot Club and the Women’s Club of Panama City, and educational institutions, such as Gulf Coast State College and Bay County Schools, allow students to experience inclusion and provide for easier integration into the community.
